Spring Storytime Registration is now up!

We are now accepting registration for our Spring Storytime Session!

Book Babies (up to 23 months)- Thursdays @ 9:30 or 11 AM

2&3 year-olds- Monday, Tuesday OR Wednesday @ 10 AM

4&5 year-olds- Monday, Tuesday OR Wednesday @ 11 AM

There are three ways to register:

1) Online @ www.matawanaberdeenlibrary.com

2) Call the library- 732-583-9100 and ask for Children's.

3) Send an email to maplkids@lmxac.org with your library card #, child's name, age, birthdate and the day you'd like to register for.

Just remember to keep your library card handy- it is required to register.

Festival of Giving

The library will be having a "Festival of Giving" the second week of December. Several children's programs will have children decorate holiday cards or winter scenes that will be sent to troops stationed overseas.

Teens will also play a role by making cookie mix and soup mix jars that will be donated to the Matawan Food Pantry.

"Food for Fines" is back again for its third year. Bring in a canned good or non-perishable food item to cancel out your fines during the month of December. All food will be donated to the Matawan Food Pantry.

Have You Met Our New Director?

Stop by Kimberly's office on Friday, October 22nd to introduce yourself, have a cup of coffee and a snack, and share your thoughts on the lirbary, the community, or your favorite book!

Fall Storytime

There is still plenty of space available in our Fall Preschool Storytime series!

Mondays: 2 year-olds 10-10:20 AM
3-5 year-olds 11-11:30 AM

Tuesdays: 2 year-olds 10-10:20 AM
3-5 year-olds 11-11:30 AM

Wednesdays: 2 year-olds 10-10:20 AM
3-5 year-olds 11-11:30 AM

Thursdays: Book Babies (0-23 months)
9:30 or 11 AM

We kindly ask patrons to please honor our age designations when registering a child for storytime as we design our programs for specific age groups and learning levels.

There are three ways to register:

1) Online at the library's calendar . Registering once signs you up for the full four or six week session.

2) Call the library @ 732-583-9100 and ask for Children's. A staff member will be happy to register you over the phone.

3) Email cmcgovern@lmxac.org with your child's name, date of birth, which day you would like to attend, and your library card number.

Please note: a valid Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library card is required for registration. We apologize, but staff members are unable to look up your library card number.

Teen Volunteer Recruitment Sessions

The library is looking for teen volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks this summer. Recruitment sessions will take place Wednesday, June 2nd and Thursday, June 3rd from 5-5:30PM in the library meeting room. Volunteer opportunities are open to students entering grades 7-12. May Calendar of Events

Our May calendar of events for Children is now available. Registration for May programs will begin on Thursday, April 15th. There is still room left in some of our April programs too!

Budget Cuts: Update

The Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library is now joining with many other libraries in a statewide advocacy to restore library funding to the state budget. Orange postcards are available to fill out to oppose the reduction in funding. On your next visit, please fill out an orange postcard at either the circulation desk or the children's desk. You can even add a message on the back if you'd lile. Then, we'll send all of the postcards together to legislators.
